“What is this?” - John Wetton

Angel-voiced Bethany Clearfield is one of a kind. Whether it’s choral, new, early, folk, rock or best of all her own music, Clearfield affords emotional performances with the greatest of care. She earned a jazz studies degree from Roosevelt University followed by masters in voice from the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama. (Don’t be too impressed, she mostly wanted to learn how to drink whisky. And learn she did!) Over the last decade, Clearfield established herself as both a fixture on the choral scene in Chicago and a standalone artist.

While she can sing just about anything, performing her own music, as with the bands Outertown or Catbird, is where Clearfield truly shines. Her wanderlust spirit and aching heart can’t help but write stirring melodies that whisk one away to distant places. You’re invited to sit back, close your eyes, and fall into the cinematic journey of Clearfield’s song.

Clearfield currently resides in Paris, France, where she is most often found eating baguettes and writing sad songs about la vie française.
