Bethany + Rob | Outertown

Anton Dvořák began the composition of his Stabat Mater in 1875, six months after the death of his daughter, Josefa, who was only two days old. He chose to compose the work, unusually for him, without a commission. The draft was written in 1876, and was dedicated to František Hušpauer “as a souvenir to the friend of his young days.”

However, Dvořák had to postpone the orchestration of the work due to other obligations. He returned to it in 1877, when his two surviving children died within a short time of each other. He completed the score on 13 November 1877 in Prague.

For this concert we will be joined by the Open Chamber Orchestra.

* Tickets purchased at the door on the evening of the concert are €25 per ticket

A new series for new works! Bethany premiers her self-imposed composition project: one year of la vie parisienne.

Bethany’s twelve new songs, one written each month of this year, demonstrate the hopeful, lonely, confusing, dark, humorous, and, above all, real feelings of expats everywhere (but mostly this one girl in Paris).

A sculpture atelier provides the perfect backdrop for a new series featuring brand-new works from artists of varying backgrounds and disciplines. Kick off the first concert of the series with your favorite sad songwriter…and pizza!
